Infrastructure University Transportation Center 3-Minute Thesis Competition

Held in conjunction with the 2026 World Bridge Engineering Conference, the UTC Infrastructure Consortium is hosting a competition where graduate and doctoral students involved with the eight UTCs can present their ideas in under three minutes in a single-slide-thesis competition.

One Slide. Three Minutes. Go.
Can you present all of your ideas and beautifully present them in three minutes on one slide? Are you a graduate or doctoral student studying infrastructure? If so, we invite you to the UTC Infrastructure Consortium Three-Minute Thesis competiton. This event will be held December 2nd at the Hyatt Regency Center in Miami Florida as part of the 2026 World Bridge Conference. Participants will submit a video to be reviewed by a panel. One finalist from each of the eight UTCs will be invited to present at the in-person competition.
Elligibility:
Must be a Masters or Doctoral Student at one of the eight UTCs listed below:
- Center for Durable and Resilient Transportation Infrastructure
- Center for Healthy and Durable Transportation
- Center for Transformative Infrastructure Preservation and Sustainability
- Coastal Research and Education Actions for Transportation Equity
- Innovative Bridge Technologies/Accelerated Bridge Construction UTC
- National Center for Infrastructure Transformation
- Southern Plains Transportation Center
- Transportation Infrastructure Precast Innovation Center

Competition Timeline:
- August 1st: Registration Deadline
- September 30th: Video Submission Deadline
- October 30th: Finalists Announcement
- November 7th: Finalist Confirmation of Attendance
- December 2nd: In-person Competition
